Seductive off the Shoulder

Holiday Party! This blouse screams Holiday Party. If you have a nice collar bone, this is the best way to flaunt it, via Yves Saint Laurent. The material used in this blouse is a gold and black lame, done in an abstract maze print. Skinny black jeans and a pair of gold 4" heels are all this hot little top needs to feel complete. There was a small tear on one of the sleeves that we have repaired, but other than that, the blouse is excellent condition.

From the Parisian house Celine, we have a fabulous 1970's carry all. The colors used in this bag are perfect for fall. The bag is constructed from suede, with the iconic Celine horizontal link pattern in fawn, over the dark chocolate background. Gather'round Children

Pull up a tree stump and gather around the fire, we are about to sing Koumbya. The only ensemble that a Decades client would be caught wearing to a fireside sing-along is this Yves Saint Laurent folk ensemble. While the rest of the camp is laden with spaghetti straps and jean cut-offs ( a big Decades No-No), you, our loyal readers, will be covered head to toe in Rive Gauche. This ensemble consists of two pieces, a peasant top and a prairie skirt. Both pieces are cotton with a batik style pattern in red, blue, green, yellow, and taupe. The two items can easily be worn as separates, with jeans (not cut-offs, though), white shirt, etc.

YOGA PRACTIONER NEEDED

In doing research on the Gianni Versace diffusion label "Istante," we discovered that it was started in March of 1985 as a ready-to-wear line of "conservative chic" designed by Gianni, his longtime companion Antonio D'Amico, and his sister, Donatella. In looking at the 1990s red halter jersey Istante dress below, we do not see an ounce of conservative, but we do see chic in spades! The slinky red jersey halter ties at the waist at cowls at the back. It doesn't have much hanger appeal, but put this on a body and the dress comes alive and flows with your every move. Yoga practicing body encouraged to buy this!

CHLOE COLOR BLOCK

We could hear Project Runway's Tim Gunn's voice in the background saying: "Designers, this is an example of a great day dress" when we received this vintage Chloe today. This is truly an example of a great day dress -- delicious crepe silk with chic wide-arm sleeves, a round neck, sashed waist, and color blocked in yellow, turquoise and black. The top of the dress has a few gathers where the yellow and black meet and the back has four faithful buttons for a bit of a peak-a-boo detail. Another reminder that Karl Lagerfeld is one of the greatest living Createurs in fashion, his design for Chloe from the 1980s is still streamlined and moderne after over 20 years.

The EVERY belt!

Decades has just received two great belts that can be worn any way you wish. The designer is unknown, but the looks are fabulous. The first belt is a long black snakeskin with black tassels on either end. The length and width make this belt extremely versatile. It can be worn high waist, low waist, or even around the neck as a very uncommon scarf. The second belt has two main sections. First, is the leather middle portion of the belt with gold piping that is the central focus of the piece. Second, coming off of the leather mid-section there are several black and gold cords on either side. The cords wind around one another to form one large cord that frays at the end. The frayed cords on the ends of the belt are studded with black and gold beads. Both of these pieces will wake up the most drab of outfits. If you are the sort that loves the white t-shirt and blue jean ensemble, both of these belts are screaming your name.

TAFETTA Smörgåsbord

Since the Renaissance period, taffeta has been considered a desirable fabric and is still considered a "high end" fabric in the 21st Century. Although piece dyed taffeta may be used as curtains, the yarn dyed taffeta concoctions designed by Yves Saint Laurent are about as far removed from curtains as one can get.

The first taffeta concoction features a base of black velvet with dramatic puffy sleeves and belt in pewter. The plunge of the dress insures a blend of sexiness and classy lady in one size 38 dress to impress.

The second taffeta concoction is taffeta times three. This is a taffeta ensemble for those who what to do taffeta head-to-toe. It starts with a ruffle collar blouse of white taffeta trimmed in black. The skirt is two layers - a base of black taffeta that is full and longer than the top layer of black taffeta trimmed with a grand ruffle of white taffeta. One can certainly wear each piece individually or surrender to the full look - an iconic and eye catching entrance maker for a Grand Night.
