HALSTON HERITAGE

Any client of Decades knows how much we adore our beloved Halston. Probably the quintessential American designer of the 20th Century, Halston is one of the most referenced and revered designers. Other designers copy him and modern women collect his minimal and sensual sportswear and evening wear that is luxurious and effortless. It continues to be a veritable conundrum that the modern versions of Halston continue to try to fix something that aint broke and although the most recent collection had many on-brand Halston designs, we were mystified by the dresses that look more Christophe Decarnin for Balmain than the heritage of Halston. Heritage seems to be the word du jeur of luxury brands. The brands that are flourishing in today's economy have embraced their heritage. We are intrigued by the Sarah Jessica Parker contemporary priced Halston Heritage collection that is being developed, but if heritage is the name of the game than reach for the stars (not SJPs) and go for an original Halston by Halston. That's heritage.

This late 70s red chiffon wrap gown has flutter sheer sleeves and a multi-tasking sash that can be worn a la Liza around the neck or over the gathered waist. It's perfect. It's Halston and Heritage..for real.
