THE BUDDHA'S ROBE

Gnyuki Torimaru known as Yuki made his mark in the fashion world in the seventies when he started to make one-size fits all draped jersey dresses inspired by monastic garb, and in the eighties he dressed Princess Diana for her royal visit to Japan in a royal blue pleated dress.
In this particular draped jersey the influence of the Japanese Buddhist priests robe is unmistakable. This sexy dress is cut in full circle, a technique used to achieve fullness without seaming. It has one full sleeve and it is a dress that will make you want to move.
The Buddhist priests of Kyoto wear the mustard draped robe over their garb but you don't have to wear anything else underneath.
