Hats are officially back. For women, you are very lucky that you need not remove them when entering a room, unlike us blokes who must remove our Rod Keenan hats only to sometimes expose hair that has gone astray. Hedi Slimane showed tons of hats on the Saint Laurent Paris runway yesterday that verged on costume and obscured the wearer's vision too much for my personal taste, so go for the original with an Yves Saint Laurent masculine-meets-feminine hat. I see it worn "Annie Hall" style this fall with a white Brooks Brothers shirt (sleeves rolled up naturally), a fitted vest, and my favorite khakis from Uniqlo. Alternatively, you can also give it a rock n roll vibe with a pair of tight black jeans. It may not be fall in LA, but elsewhere it is hat season so put on your bowler!
