I AM BACK FROM PARIS AND FEELING PATRIOTIC

If you follow me on Twitter @CameronDecades you will have had first dibs on photos from the Haute Couture shows and presentations of Giorgio Armani (not my fav), Jean Paul Gaultier (looked better when we went to visit the Atelier in person), Versace (very Gianni), Valentino (chic and mature), Valli (who actually buys it?), Dior (too vintage), Mabille (great day looks), and Givenchy (kind of amazing!), among others. My photos and bon mots had my hand working overtime and I hope you all enjoyed my observations from Couture. It's good to be home and as much as I adore Paris high fashion, I still love a good ol' American point of view on style, too. This Bill Blass ombre chiffon evening gown has a knife pleated goddess bust and attached scarf that reminds me of some of the Madame Gres gowns we have received at Decades in her signature jersey. Blass makes the gown so light and the colors are like a Malibu sunset. Perfection. Seasonless. Fabulous with flats. Heaven with heels. Jeweled or just accessorized by tawny skin, this is Blass at his best. Not as an American in Paris, but as an American made in America, too.

VINTAGE CHIC FOR A GOOD CAUSE

On Monday Anne Hathaway presented stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe with the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center first Visionary Award. They both wore vintage from Decades, Rachel wore this black velvet Gianni Versace and Anne shined in this vintage Dior Haute Couture gown in silk with white lace trim.

They both look so chic and modern and that is the magic of a good vintage dress from Decades!!

Hello loyal Decades blog followers. I’m so excited to file my first-ever blog post about an event that was in the words of the honoree…amazeballs!

I was a host at the event last night honoring one of Decades’ favorite gals-Rachel Zoe. She was chosen to receive the inaugural visionary award by the LA Gay and Lesbian Center benefitting the Homeless Youth Services.

Held at the gorgeous Sunset Tower in Los Angeles, Rachel was bestowed her award by close friend Anne Hathaway.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after their speeches , which were accompanied by inspirational words from Aaron Sorkin (congrats on today’s Oscar nomination) and Kelly Osbourne.

We raised hundreds of thousands for the charity. And looked tres chic while doing so!

Rachel wore a vintage early ‘90’s Versace (Gianni era) velvet gown with gold buttons and silk details from Decades. She looked gorg. And gave a sweet shout out to Decades from the stage.

Also from Decades, Anne wore a vintage Dior gown with white lace trim from the early ‘90’s from the era of Gianfranco Ferre.

And lastly, Ashley Madeckwe, star of my favorite television show Revenge (is anyone else obsessed with it like me?!), shone in a modern Alaia flounce dress from Decades.

And, well, moi,---McQueen head to toe, except for my croc bow tie from Teddy Tinson—Cameron turned me on to his line, and my collection of his ties has grown exponentially.

There ya have it. My first post of hopefully many to come. Cameron would you come back from Paris already!

"Having a dress fitted at Scaasi is just like having a tummy tuck without the pain". That was the word among socialites who could afford a made-to-order Scaasi gown. Arnold Scaasi dressed every influential woman, from first ladies to movie stars. Award season is really Hollywood's Christmas and between the fittings and parties, none of us have had a chance to blog much about our latest goodies ranging from 80s edgy CDG to gowns galore! It's party time. Last night, good friends Rachael Harris and Ann Magnuson both donned vintage from Decades wearing Pauline Trigere and Halston, respectfully. Rach and I arrived in one of the super duper cute Gucci'd Fiats and the paps went crazy. Tonight is HEAVEN and tomorrow are the GLOBES. Hope to return to more active blogging by Monday. Being as busy as he usually is, nothing can stop Cameron from spotting a good bag. As we are setting up for our final casting for the Heaven Gala tomorrow we wanted to leave you with this stunning Hermes 40cm Birkin in rouge crocodile leather. It doesn't need a lot of words or comments on how beautiful and special this bag is since our talented in-house photographer Joe, has done a terrific job capturing the actual color and condition of this 2007 Birkin. Recently, he hosted an Art of Elysium workshop at his Decades boutique where girls brought fashion sketches of gowns they dreamed to design to wear at the Heaven gala. BONNIE AND CLYDE

Two months ago I wrote about the passing of legendary costume designer Theadora Van Runkle. She famously costumed the stars above in the 1974 film "Bonnie and Clyde." I have a feeling the Emanuel Ungaro skirt suit below was likely inspired by the film and comes around the same year. Ungaro shortened the length of the skirt and uses a pattern that evokes the mid 70s in wool and lined in silk. This is the best part: It is marked size 12. Now I know
Annelise Peterson tweeted to me @Annelise007 yesterday that she can't get around buying a vintage garment that is marked a size 10 but fits a size 4 to 6. Remember Age ain't nothin' but a number and neither is size!

SOMEWHERE IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

Today I am wearing yellow Jil Sander jeans and a grey V Neck tee-shirt. It is the third day of January. It is nearly 80 degress in Los Angeles. This is winter the LA-way. To our friends in Moscow, we have something to keep you toasty under your Bargouzine in 27 degree weather. This Jean Muir grey flannel dress with rust contrast stiching and pleated front panel has full sleeves reminescent of a Russian peasant blouse. The hidden pockets are perfect to warm your Perrin Paris-gloved hands and throw on some Wolford tights and a pair of boots and close your eyes and you just might be able to pretend you are under the LA-sun or at least you will be that warm thanks to this Jean Muir dress that's strong enough for a Moscow winter or an evening stroll in Montecito.

L'OFFICIEL

It's official according to L'Officiel March 1934. This rose pink silk satin bias cut gown designed by Charlotte Revyl bares a striking resemblance to a design of Madame Revyl's illustrated above in L'Officiel delightfully called "Symphonie" in 1934. Popular songs in 1934 seemed to all be written by Cole Porter: from "Anything Goes" to "I Get a Kick out of You." Why I wouldn't be surprised if Reno Sweeney as played by Ethel Merman or Patti Lupone or Elaine Paige or Sutton Foster for that matter donned something similar while belting the brilliant songs of Porter. I am always aching for divine bias cut gowns from the 1930s but they tend to be primarily in dark colors or so compromised in lighter shades. For a nearly 90 year old show-stopper, this Revyl is certainly both "De-Lovely" and "The Top" so expect the unexpected "All through the Night" while wearing this symphonic and silky gown that will earn you a standing ovation. This post is pretty cliche-central, I must admit, but sometimes I just need to "Blog, Gabriel, Blog."

BRIGADOON

Have you ever seen the Lerner and Loewe 1954 musical Brigadoon? It's about a magical Scottish village that only appears to outsiders every one hundred years. I reference Brigadoon because this 1930s bias cut gown bares a label for a shop from Edinburgh called Mamie and I must admit that this may be the one and only 30s gown to enter the hallowed walls of Decades baring a Scottish provenance. Thus, this is our little couture gown that is a mysterious to me as Brigadoon was to the American tourist Tommy who falls in love with Fiona, an ultimate femme fatale stuck in the 18th century who only appears on the fateful one-in-a-hundred-year's day when the two meet and well "It's Almost Like Being in Love." And love it is for this light rose hammered silk bias halter gown with train (don't worry it has a finger-ring so you can wear this down the red carpet without some an unfortunate heel incident) that may be as romantic as walking through "The Heather on the Hill." Pure old Hollywood 30s glam by way of Brigadoon, er, Edinburgh.

The Lyn Revson Installation

JUST RIGHT

This will be my last blog post for 2011. I am not going out with a bang, but I am also not going out with a whimper. Rather, I thought I would share with you something that is JUST RIGHT. Jean Muir always made clothes that were just right. They weren't "all right" as they were much more effective and ultimately essential for a woman's wardrobe. Her signature raised seams, trapunto stitching, effortless-like shapes made mundane daywear extra fashionable and appropriate without looking like a victim. A perfect example is this tomato crepe dress. A fabulous variation of a shirtmaker that is anything but boring or basic. Notice the details across the collar, the tie around the neck, the bracelet sleeve, the slight-pucker to the shoulder, and the architectural horizon back. It is easy to see why Jean Muir became such an essential wardrobe staple for so many decades and for so many women. Her business outlasted many of her contemporaries who also began in the 1960s and her clothes are continuing referenced by so many designers today.

As I prepare to fly to NYC this morning to ring in the New Year, I remind you of one of my fashion mantras: nothing boring, nothing basic, and make black not look black by the way you accessorize. Jean Muir understood this and it's a great resolution to follow this advice. If you get confused, just wear vintage Muir. That's the beauty of timeless vintage: as the clock strikes midnight on the 1st of January, your vintage collectible is only more desirable as it gets another year older.

Apparently Decades lovers are nuts for knits since Aimee Mann's mid 80s Galliano pieces sold so fast. Aren't knit dresses the chic alternative to ForeverLazy onesies? After all, it is one piece that covers what needs to be covered and a knit dress is so comfy you can sleep in it or wear it to the next tailgate party!

This dead stock magenta lurex-infused Missoni dress has a distinctive raised pattern in addition to grids. I love how Missoni knows how to mix patterns and colors that is is a signature of the Italian House. You can easily wear this on NYE with some sparkly tights and sky-high Atwoods or dress it down with a pair of Ferragamo flats. Totally day to evening. This dress was NEVER worn and is part of a large cache of deadstock vintage I purchased a few months ago, but seems to be selling more quickly than we can post! I am nuts for knits, and some might argue that I am just nuts, but I don't fear self-deprecation especially in the wee hours of the morning!

What's everyone doing for NYE? I am headed to NYC for the final performance of the Merce Cunningham Company. It should be amazing and a very emotional evening, especially for the spectacular dancers. There will be a performance followed by a party to ring in the new year. What could be more chic to wear to this "alternative black tie" dress code affair than sporting a vintage Valentino halter jumpsuit in wool crepe with an equally sexy front and back? It's totally black tie, but it is certainly alternative and I did the strass V at bottom of the decollete as well as the wide cuff of the pants. Perfect with a pair of stacked heels and a chinchilla chubby, who knows if I will see someone in the elite audience wearing this on Saturday, but if I do, expect a bevy of compliments...the first will be from yours truly.

We have another John Galliano hand-cable-knit cotton sweater from Aimee Mann's collection that she purchased in the mid 1980s. Yesterday, I inquired about John Galliano's New Year's resolutions and now I am curious about what your goals are in 2012?

One of my resolutions is to take a real vacation. All my time-off is always work related, and when looking at this sweater dress, I think this would be perfect to wear on a yacht. (Well I wouldn't be wearing it, but someone fabulous on the yacht would be wearing it, no?). Now a yacht isn't what I got, but should someone wish for some fashionable entertainment, I make for a lovely guest and have my share of nautical-themed attire to wear (white Hermes jeans and Richard Grand cashmere cable-knit sweaters). If I am your guest, I imagine my hostess will be wearing something like this Galliano pullover. Ideal for when we port for lunch and eat momen's earlier caught fish freshly grilled and then stroll through the local stores. Surely, you are an epic shopper!

Well you do not need a yacht to understand how fantastic this sweater dress is as all you need to do is throw this one and wear a pair of sandals and your Cruise ensemble is set.

Aimee Mann of 'Til Tuesdsay fame brought us a few pieces right before Christmas including this John Galliano mustard sweater of hand knit cotton from the mid 1980s. This got me thinking about what a crap year Galliano has had (self-imposed) and what his New Year's Resolution(s) might be? I am sure he is waxing nostalgic to a more innocent time when this sweater was designed before bouts of public intoxication could be caught on camera phones and result in total annihilation by the fashion industry. Well he certainly hasn't waited 'til Tuesday 2 January 2012 to begin his amends and hopefully his rehab at Meadows has done the trick since the man has profound talent and can make the basic cable knit sweater look totally unique with an exaggerated roll-neck, full sleeves, and cropped for your favorite pencil skirt in a color that puts the naughty in nautical. What are your resolutions?

Andy Warhol’s influence on culture and art clearly is not diminishing after his death. People of all ages still tend to romanticize not just his art but also his social life. So how did he spend his Christmas and New Year holidays? Let’s check in his infamous diaries for the year 1978, the height of everything socially Warhol, including Studio 54 and best friend the designer Halston.

Sunday, December 24, 1978: “Up early…decided to do prints of the Ali paintings…Truman called and said he was alone because Bob MacBride had to spend Christmas with his kids. I worked all afternoon…Tom Cashin came over to the house for a fast turkey dinner before we went to Diane Von Furstenberg’s…it was a horrible Christmas party with horrible people—about fifty of them…Then we left for Halston’s. Catherine [Milinaire, we assume] was there and I gave her a painting with some of my come on it, but then Victor [Hugo] said it was his come, and then we had a fight about that, but now that I think about it, it could have been Victor’s...Halston had a big fish. Sunday, December 31, 1978: “I didn’t know the evening at Halston’s was going to be so chic, my dear…Bianca Jagger was in Dior…Diana Ross looked beautiful. And she had asked Halston over the phone if he was going to serve black-eyed peas at midnight because it was good luck….And when she got there Halston was cooking ham hocks and ribs. A few people said to her, ‘Don’t you want to check on the black-eyed peas?’ They knew the peas were her idea, and they were just trying to be nice. I guess she took it as an insult, though, because she said, ‘No, thank you, darling, I think I’ve checked them enough’…Then we all did go to Studio 54. They had decorated it great, put silver glitter on the floor, and they had someone on a trapeze, and white balloons….The whole night was spent losing and finding and looking and finding and looking. We have posting bags and jewels quite aggressively since they make for good presents at this time of the year and they are selling so it's great for the bottom line, but what about your bottom. It's no secret that I am a major fan of Jean-Louis Scherrer Haute Couture. It's also no secret that I have reservations when it comes to illusion netting. So what's a boy to do when we receive a Scherrer Couture dress with illusion netting? I have had an epiphany and am pretty much sold on this dress. It's got jet black beading, a second skin of black netting, and a tulle drop waist skirt that evokes everything from Deco, to Charles James, to the Ice Capades. I am a changed man, but who is the woman who can make my change come to life? You just better have what Tess McGill acutely stated in Working Girl: "I have a head for business and a bod for sin."

Since when does Cameron Silver say a Hermes Birkin is not an appropriate Christmas/Chanukah present?

Is it the fact that I am somewhat delusional from only four hours of sleep since anyone who I know has been solicited to buy tables to the annual benefit for Art of Elysium aka the HEAVEN gala? I am chairing this major fete the night before the Golden Globes and being a philanthropist is giving me dark circles and carpal tunnel! Well I may be feeling a little off, but I do know when a Birkin is a gift and when a Birkin is a better SELF gift.

I would call this 35 cm Birkin a "beater Birkin" and its around half the price of buying a brand new one as this one has been used and I would actually say the interior has been a bit abused, but "in this economy" this Hermes treasure is a real steal.

If you are a sloppy girl or boy, buy this one and let it get all messy. If you have a zillion perfect Birkins and need a "schlepper," buy this one. If you want to look like you got into the Hermes Birkin frenzy in the LAST decade and want to look ahead of the curve, but this one. Yes it's got a little "schmutz" on the ends and a major scar inside, but who's lookin'? With the 5Gs you have saved you can take a vacation or be totally gluttonous and get caviar, ice cream, and red wine all over this bag. I won't say a thing. Buy this for YOU! Don't buy this for HIM or HER.

THE TRIGERE BOW

We have been very busy here at Decades, but we have managed to remain in the holiday spirit and are thinking Holiday looks for all you fashionable ladies. The dress above from Giambattista Valli's Fall 2011 ready to wear collection is reminiscent of this special Pauline Trigère cocktail dress from 1955 that we just got in. It's a very chic holiday party dress in wool crepe, knee length sheath with huge chocolate silk faille half bows at front and side. I'd rather think of this bow as tulip straight from those Flemish painting of still life, an imaginary creation of a flower that has bloomed on your dress. Born in France, Trigère moved to New York when she was 25 years old, she was a model of her own creations, she did yoga before anyone knew what yoga was and never left her house without makeup. She remains, just as her creations, a very modern woman. The connection of the modern dress above with this vintage Trigère is simply, what GiambattistaValli calls contemporaneity.

Decades is finally represented on Rodeo Drive as we have installed windows at Stephen Webster's Via Rodeo Boutique featuring a Stavropoulos and a Mugler gown from your favorite store! A cocktail party last night feted the installation and you can view all the fun party pictures here. Jeff Snyder and Decades ICON Jarred Cairns art directed the windows and I love what they did.
FYI this may be my last blog post for the next 10 days since I am traveling to five countries in that many days, BUT Eri will be blogging like crazy so follow the site to see our latest acquisitions. We are going to start taking more attractive photos for everyone as we have had a gorgeous media room for this purpose but have mostly used it for modern items on our Decadestwo.1 site but as merge everything into one glorious destination for lovers of pre-loved luxury (vintage and modern), we are beginning a few teases of how it will all look.

This late 40s custom Saks Fifth Avenue gown is in the very lightest shade of pistachio and in the very softest velvet. Truly inspired by grand French Haute Couture, this gown delivers six-figures of fashion for just over a grand. Now, we have highlight the boo-boos, but this is over 60 years old and it costs less than a pair of Balmain jeans (you know the jeans that HAVE rips in them and you gladly hand over nearly $2000 to own). Go grand to the ball. The color is so unusual and although it is velvet, I do believe it will take you into early spring.

Go grand for a bit more than a grand!

I am about to begin some continent hoping which is why we have all been a little lazy with updating the blog this week. Tonight, our windows are revealed at the Stephen Webster boutique on Rodeo Drive with a cocktail party from 7 to 10 pm. You are all invited but you must RSVPBH@STEPHENWEBSTER. Under my "creative direction", Art Director Jeff Snyder and Decades Icon Jarred Cairns have designed windows inspired by Guy Bourdin featuring gowns from Decades and jewels from Stephen Webster in a dramatic tableaux plus installation upstairs. Then it's off to Toronto to speak at TIFF on Grace Kelly's style on Monday. Quick pit stop Tuesday to NYC for a few hours (and a haircut) then off to Hong Kong for dinner to celebrate Solange Azagury-Partridge's new Hong Kong boutique. Next weekend I am Shanghai doing a story for C Magazine which will tell you where to go, eat, and shop for a fashionable weekend in the city. Last stop in Singapore, where Christos will join me for our first Spore trunk show. We've been busy boxing up Alaia, Chanel, and the most epic collection of YVES SAINT LAURENT HAUTE COUTURE that will make our Singapore clients go GAGA! Aside from all the travel, I have been buying such good things lately that Eri will post while I am traveling. Wait till you see the Alex&Lee pieces (remember we had a trunk show for Lee years ago and favored the amazing jewelery long before Proenza Schouler). We have some edgy 80s Jean Paul Gaultier pieces (mad for the red leather swing trench coat) as well as gowns galore for award season. A bunch of Hermes bags came in too (Constance, Kelly, and a few Market bags that I HEART). Okay enough bragging about how fabu everything is and let's comment on three Decades clients looking amazing as they are party hopping around the world.

Maria Bell is a spectacular philanthropist and art collector (not to mention her amazing work on "Young and the Restless") and we are so lucky she lives in Los Angeles. Here she is photographed with Eli Broad wearing vintage Thea Porter and a Judith Leiber belt (from Decades of course!) while celebrating with royals from The Kingdom of Morocco during Miami Basel. You look gorgeous and thank you for making LA a more amazing city!

Heidi Klum is wearing a vintage Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture LBD from Decades in Washington DC at the International Hall of Fame Awards ceremony held by the International Women’s Forum . Heidi received a Hall of Fame Award. Mazel Tov to Heidi and this dress is en route to Singapore as part of the ultimate collection from Madame X.

Chloe and her mother Raphaelle Cassens attended the opening of the Musee Jean Cocteau, Collection Severin Wunderman in Menton France on November 6th. Her Yves Saint Laurent necklace and Helmut Lang dress were both purchased at Decades. She chose the necklace because Chloe's grandfather, Severin Wunderman donated over 1800 works of art, making the museum possible. The YSL necklace is inspired the Cocteau drawing above. And now you understand why I put the drawing at the start of this post!

Have you survived Cyber Monday? The nice thing about Cyber Monday is you can avoid getting pepper sprayed at a Wal Mart, but chances are you if you shop at Decades you avoid Wal Mart like the plague. How was American Express Small Business Saturday? At Decades, it is always Small Business Saturday. Speaking of Small and "pepper'y", I am crazy for this hand-crochet sweater with clear crystals from the 1950s. It's perfect over a requisite LBD or dressed down with jeans. It's ideally festive for this season, but season-less in its design -- wear it during any of the four seasons or to dinner at The Four Seasons. It's the perfect "I don't know what to wear" addition to your wardrobe which we believe was designed in France by Henry a la Pensee. Alas the label has gone astray, but the fine design remains. What to wear when others are what not to wear :)

We couldn't help but post this photo of one of our darling and stunning friends of Decades, Sutton Stracke at the MOCA gala a couple of weeks ago. Sutton is wearing vintage Oscar de la Renta that we posted here and the fabulous Judy Chang in Miriam Haskell for Decades jewels. It is nice to be a patron of the arts but to look good doing it - it's an art form in itself!

FASHION WILL GO OUT OF FASHION

So was written on one of Rudi Gernreich's invites to his fashion shows in 1968. His idea was not to revolutionize the art of clothe-making, but rather to revolutionize the attitude that people had toward clothing or what they were wearing and why. In full Rudi mode this is another perfect dress to wear during holiday dinners. This knit A line dress with side slash pockets looks amazing with or without the belt. It could be very practical to show up to dinner wearing the belt for a more elegant silhouette and later remove the belt to make room for all the delicious food at hand. You can look elegant and modern either way and very cheerful in this festive color combo. Add some bold gold accessories and voila!

RUDI'S MIX PRINTS

Rudi Gernreich did not stylized himself as a professional virtuoso of the fashion world but rather turn to an audience hungry for innovation. His clothes represented an attack on "good manners" and "good taste". In this more subdued ensemble than his iconic work, the way he breaks the rules is simply by mixing prints. For someone born in the 90's this is barely risque, but if you were living in the sixties, just this mix of prints in your daily outfits counted for a big wave in the fashion revolution of that decade.

This knit ensemble would be the perfect outfit to wear at your parents in law Christmas of Hanukkah dinner. It says conservative upon first look, young and fresh with the op art print, and naughty because you are wearing Rudi Gernreich. He was a provocateur who brought his 'fashion" closer to the contemporary art scene and marked his place outrageously in a very sexy decade in fashion, the incomparable 60's.

ALAIA'S MAGIC

There is no argument to the fact that Azzedine Alaia is a living legend. He has proved it over and over again with every piece he has created, that he is the Master and one of the last living couturiers. For his work and what he has created in this last century, he is being honored with an exhibit at the Groninger Museum in Netherland. Click on the image and go if you are in that part of the world. If you can't attend then what a better way to celebrate Alaia than to own one of his pieces.

This python skin black coat is as luxurius as it is non pretencious ....but look closer and all his magic unveils itself. Alaia's magic is in making very intricate design to look quite simple and perfect. And this coat is no ecxeption.

IMAN APPROVES

Around two weeks ago Iman received a Walk of Style award on Rodeo Drive. She did not wear this Michaele Vollbracht bugle beaded leopard print wrap dress with leather sash that she wore in Ebony back in 1981. However, if she had, I don't think you would be able to tell the difference as she is ageless and appears as gorgeous in 2011 and she did back in 1981.

I am a Vollbracht fan and have noticed his pieces are selling for high prices lately at auctions. He may be most famous for designing the iconic Face Print bag for Bloomingdales, but one cannot discount his talents as a designer and as an illustrator. I suppose his illustration abilities are a perfect combo to being a clothing designer since he can utilitze his graphic confidence to make dresses that are wearable works of art wothout looking too much like "art to wear".

THANKSGIVING IN STYLE

The applique on this black linen dress from Paris designer Paul Louis Orrier in the 1980s is not only beautiful it is thought provoking. (The leaves are suede and applied on the black linen.) Ornamentation is never arbitrary. Wearing a garment with any sort of specifically representational pattern telegraphs a personal statement instantly, representing how you see yourself, the special world you inhabit most comfortably or most daringly, or the group or groups you are associated with. (Peace symbols, flags…teddy bears…)

Here this marvelously chicly feminine black dress is wearing nature where her heart beats. Who is she? A natural woman, elegant and grounded, mother earth meets Grace Kelly. Further hint? It is perfect to wear not only any time you very well please but also, and why not, on Thanksgiving. It’s the bounty, and the respect, the dress expresses. Then add some jewelry after the pumpkin pie and dance the night away. Pilgrims rock.

NOT EXACTLY VINTAGE, BUT

When is something vintage? That is a question we are often asked and the answer isn't always black and white. Take for example this Rochas gown by Olivier Theyskens from the mid-oughts. We recently purchased 9 gowns from the Rochas archive, all designed by Theyskens and many are what the french call piece unique or one-of-a-kind. Because Theyskens no longer designs Rochas and his collections were so heralded, we feel that they may not yet be vintage but they certainly are collectible and represent the best of the vintage-inspired oughts. Officially, Decades sells 20th century collectible couture (with an emphasis on the 50s to early 90s) but we've made an exception with these recent acquisitions.

First up is a divine teal and turquoise bustier gown in a spectacular Mosaic motif with a dramatic train from Autumn/Winter 2005. MET gala anyone?
